Reports: Cameron’s tax leak could harm his ‘Brexit’ campaign
David Cameron has come under significant scrutiny in the past week after it emerged he owned shares in a Panamanian trust set up by his late father. Cameron recently published his own tax returns over the past six years so as to squash ongoing rumours that he has been hiding his wealth from tax authorities. Svenja O’Donnell, a Bloomberg reporter, belives this scandal has “eroded trust” in Cameron’s leadership. We believe that this story will continue to rumble on as further statements will be released by both Cameron and then countered by the opposition party.
Helena Morrissey, CEO of Newton Investment Management further states that the upcoming referendum on whether or not Britian should leave the EU could become more of a vote on whether to trust Cameron’s leadership.
